Lake Norman: Summer Time On The Lake

It’s summer time, the temperatures are rising, the kids are out of school, and it’s the perfect time to head out, have an adventure, and make some memories. We have to hurry back to Keith Hawthorne Ford of Belmont to keep the ship sailing straight, but for the day we’re here to find out the best way to celebrate the Summer, and defeat the grueling heat at the same time. We have our eyes set on Lake Norman! With the surrounding towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Denver, Huntersville, and Mooresville all residing on Lake Norman, we have an abundance of choices, and we aim to find something the whole family can enjoy!

We’re sure to end up on the Lake, but what’s for lunch, and how’s the night life? Find out below!

My Brothers Bagel – Denver, NC

This breakfast and lunch joint might very well be home to the best bagels in all of America. Seriously, you may ruin bagels forever if you go here, because nothing will compare after. We say that in jest, but these bagels are truly amazing. My Brothers Bagel has quickly become a local breakfast legend to those in Denver and once you bite into the tasty, doughy bagel goodness, you’ll see why. With indoor seating and patio seating, you can start your morning off however you’d like. The menu has all sorts of bagel sandwiches and more, although I tried my all time favorite, Bacon Egg and Cheese on a plain toasted bagel, and to describe it in one word: Perfection. Located off N. Highway 16 in Denver, North Carolina, you’ll be glad you started your day here!

Ramsey Creek Park – Cornelius, NC

This one was a no brainer! If you’re into camping, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, or even relaxing on the beach, and practically anything you can think of in the realm of outdoor activities, then Ramsey Creek Park is the place to go for your summer family adventure. Perfect for families of all age ranges, and even pet friendly, there’s an endless list of things to partake in around the park. Accessible via Nantz Road in Cornelius, North Carolina, Ramsey Creek Park is a sure-fire good time, and with events lined up all summer you’ll always find something new.

Two Scoops Creamery – Mooresville, NC

Is it a rule that every family adventure should end with Ice Cream? If not, it should be! We decided to wrap up our adventure around Lake Norman with something sweet, and from what we were hearing the place to go is Two Scoops Creamery. With a claim to over 32 homemade flavors year-round and even seasonal specials sprinkled in, you’ll find the classic you love or something new you won’t soon forget. With a vibrant atmosphere and a genuine and friendly staff, our only wish is that this was across the street from our home at Keith Hawthorne Ford. If you’re heading past Mooresville, make sure you pass by Two Scoops Creamery off Landings Drive at Suite 104, it’s a treat!
